No LeBron James’ record doesn’t sound absurd at this point in his career.
His longevity has been incredible, he has been the face of the league for almost all of the 2000s. LBJ is extremely close to breaking Kareem Abdul-Jabbar’s record for most points scored in NBA history, it’s merely a matter of when not if. But this isn’t his only major record, James has done some truly unbelievable stuff during his career.
LeBron James recently passed Oscar Robertson for an extremely unique record after he dropped a massive 40-point performance on his birthday. When a player has been at the top for as long as the King, it’s natural for them to own a lot of records. But to truly understand how special LeBron James has done is, it makes sense to look at how many games it has been since he scored in single digits in a game.
It has been 16 years and well over 1,000 games since LeBron last scored in single digits. This is by far the longest streak in NBA history, eclipsing Michael Jordan. James scored 8 points against Milwaukee to start 2007 and hasn’t done it in any regular season game since. The average NBA player rarely averages double digits even in the regular season, which shows exactly how impressive this record is. A fan did point out though, that there is a caveat.
NBA Fan Reminded Everyone That LeBron James Had An 8-Point Game In The 2011 NBA Finals
If there is one big issue with LeBron James and his career, a blemish on his achievements, it’s the 2011 NBA Finals. The King failed to perform against the Dallas Mavericks despite being on the Heatles and they ended up losing their first chance at a championship. And a fan reminded people of that as they were talking about James’ insane streak in the regular season.
“Cap. He had a 8 point game in the Finals 2011 vs Mavs.”
While that game was in the playoffs and so the streak is still technically alive for LeBron, it does give some perspective to know that he failed to get 10 points in 2011. But even with that taken into account, just one game below 10 points in 16 years is still absolutely wild, and there’s no doubt about the King’s greatness.
