Rep. Paul Gosar (R-AZ) called the top U.S. military officer, Joint Chiefs Chairman Gen. Mark Milley, a “traitor,” adding that House Republicans will investigate his “treasonous sell out to China” and “coup” attempt around the Jan. 6 Capitol storming.
“Remember – we will conduct a real investigation into J6. The effort to attempt a coup between traitor Gen. Mark Milley and Pelosi will be reviewed and exposed,” Gosar tweeted on Saturday.
“Milleys treasonous sell out to China will be investigated. Pelosi not warning members about intel of impending violence will be exposed,” he added. “Soon, we’ll know the truth.”
Gosar was one of 21 Republican representatives who for days held up the election of Rep. Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) as House Speaker last week. To win over the holdouts, McCarthy accepted their demand to form a committee to investigate “the Weaponization of the Federal Government,” as reported by POLITICO.
Milley has been accused of being a traitor by lawmakers and former President Donald Trump for actions near the end of Trump’s presidency that were later revealed in “Peril,” a book by journalists Bob Woodward and Robert Costa.
Gosar referred to a report in the book that Milley secretly called his Chinese counterpart two times to reassure them that the U.S. would not launch an attack, as reported by CNBC.

Milley, worried that Trump would “go rogue,” also called a secret meeting with senior officers to review nuclear launch procedures and assert that he had to be involved in all orders, the book said, according to CNN.
He told military leaders and the intelligence community to be on guard, effectively “overseeing the mobilization of America’s national security state without the knowledge of the American people or the rest of the world,” according to “Peril.”
Politicians have claimed that Pelosi is at least partially responsible for the Jan. 6 storming, alleging that she was briefed on the possible threat but ignored or withheld the information, leaving Capitol Police unprepared for it.
