Keanu Reeves Returns From Hell In Constantine 2 Fan Poster - HypeFresh Inc

A new Constantine 2 fan poster imagines Keanu Reeves’ character returning from Hell. Released in 2005, director Francis Lawrence’s fantasy horror film follows supernatural exorcist John Constantine as he works with Rachel Weisz’s Angela to prove that her sister’s death was not a suicide. The film earned mostly negative reviews from critics but proved popular with audiences, earning a respectable $230.9 million at the box office and eventually developing a cult following. In the fall of last year, it was announced that Constantine 2 was officially moving forward with Reeves expected to reprise his role as the titular demonologist.

Although no official promotional material has been released for Constantine 2 just yet, a new piece of fan art shared by @JasonVoorheesIM on Twitter imagines Reeves’ hero back to his old ways once more. The poster-style art features John smoking, in typical fashion, and the character has “To Hell And Back” carved into his forehead, potentially serving as the sequel’s subtitle. Check out the impressive fan art below:

Everything We Know About Constantine 2

There were initially plans for Constantine to return in the form of an HBO show from J.J. Abrams, but that plan was eventually shelved in favor of a feature film sequel, which Abrams will produce. Lawrence is expected to return as director, but there’s currently no word yet on what the Constantine sequel’s story will be about. With Reeves’ recent career resurgence, due largely to the John Wick franchise, the actor is definitely a strong reason why the sequel got the green light, but it’s not clear whether any other original characters will return, including Weisz as Angela or Peter Stormare as the Devil.

Although no official information has been released regarding the sequel’s story, the first film’s ending does tee up some interesting plot threads. At the end of the first Constantine, Angela decides to dedicate her life to the paranormal, potentially hinting at a much more prominent role for Weisz’s character in the upcoming sequel. It’s also possible, of course, that Constantine 2 will feature an entirely new story, perhaps drawing from the character’s rich DC Comics history. While no story details have been released, Akiva Goldsman has been confirmed to be writing the script, taking over from Kevin Brodbin and Frank Cappello, who wrote the original film.

Unfortunately, with Constantine 2 still so early on in development, there’s no word yet when the sequel will actually be released. With no release date in sight, it will likely also be quite a while before fans are treated to any trailer or promotional material for the film. According to IMDb, the sequel is currently marked as “In Production,” meaning it could potentially release as early as next year. While official information on Constantine 2 may be hard to come by, fans can, at the very least, rest assured that Reeves’ titular demonologist will return to the big screen in due time, hopefully bigger and bolder than ever before.
