Jose Mourinho’s best players are divided into two XIs: Ronaldo, Zlatan, and Drogba

The legendary manager is one of the beautiful game’s most infamous figures having led an illustrious career that was never far from controversy.

🚨Jose Mourinho strong favourite to land one of the biggest job in football - his back!

He’s won all nearly all there is to win in club football and has managed a host of Europe’s most elite clubs.

Having begun his career as head coach with Porto, he has since gone on to manage Chelsea, Inter Milan, Real Madrid, Manchester United, Tottenham and Roma. It’s some CV, that’s for sure.

Naturally, having managed clubs of such magnitude, Mourinho has been responsible for leading the very best of the best.

And in 2020, he treated fans by selecting the very best XI from players he had managed.

Take a look at who Mourinho picked in that team below:

Mourinho picked his best XI of players managed

GK – Petr Cech

RB – Javier ZanettiCB – Ricardo CarvalhoCB – John TerryLB – Ashley Cole

CM – Claude MakeleleCM – Frank LampardCM – Mesut Ozil

RW – Cristiano RonaldoST – Didier DrogbaLW – Eden Hazard

It’s a very heavy on the Chelsea side that team, which might just go to show where he most enjoyed his years in management.

Eight of the 11 worked under Mourinho at Stamford Bridge with just Zanetti (Inter), Ozil (Real Madrid) and Ronaldo (Real Madrid) having been involved with the Portuguese elsewhere.

But in picking that team, Mourinho has omitted some huge, huge names.

A Twitter account @MyGreatest11 has proven that fact in its entirety, with the page producing a so-called ‘B-team’ to rival Mourinho’s initial XI.

The same principle was used, all players selected were managed by Mourinho at some stage. View their alternative XI below.

Mourinho’s ‘B-team’ of players managed

GK: Iker Casillas

RB: MaiconCB: Sergio RamosCB: Raphael VaraneLB: Marcelo

CDM: Xabi AlonsoCM: Wesley SneijderCM: Luka Modric

RW: Angel Di MariaST: Zlatan IbrahimovicLW: Karim Benzema

We have to say, it’s actually pretty tough to split the sides with Ramos, Alonso, Modric and Benzema proving real draws when it comes to assessing the so-called ‘B-team’s’ viability.

More than anything, though, this task just goes to show the incredible depth of players that ‘The Special One’ has worked with across the past 21 years.
