Following a significant transaction between the Phoenix Suns and the Brooklyn Nets that saw KD and TJ Warren go to Barclays Center in exchange for Mikal Bridges, Jae Crowder, Cameron Johnson, and four first-round selections, KD is now a player for the Phoenix Suns.
The Suns are now considered the biggest favorite to come out of the West this season, as the addition of Durant is bigger than anything the rest of the teams could do. Not even the Dallas Mavericks and their new duo of Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving are considered favorites as the Suns, and it really shows.
Everybody is excited to see the new Suns’ Big 3 in action, but they’ll have to wait since KD is sidelined. Still, a lot of people are waiting to see the 2x NBA champion on his new team, especially his new teammates.
Chris Paul Is Very Excited To Have Kevin Durant As His New Teammate
Chris Paul has had the chance to play with some incredible players over the years, and he’s now teaming up with KD, who will take this team to the next level. Talking about the addition of Durant, Paul perfectly explained Durant’s talent and what he’s capable of doing on the court.
“I’m excited, man. I’ve been knowing KD for a long time since he was a camper… He’s one of the best players to ever play the game, and just to know how he approaches the game, just like his nickname, he’s easy money. Just somebody who loves the game like that. I think that’s what got me and Book [Devin Booker] together, because loves to hoop. KD, he just loves to hoop.”
Paul created a very interesting hypothetical scenario where KD played for a terrible yet famous team, and they would be nice simply because of his presence on the court.
“Add him to the Washington Generals and they gonna be nice. KD’s different. He’s different. And that’s why he is who he is.”
The new-look Phoenix Suns are poised to win it all, and their star trio is ready to show the world that the championship window isn’t closed at all. This team can do a lot of great things, but time will tell if they’re able to take that last step and finally win the NBA championship.
