How would you like to study Taylor Swift in college?
The prestigious Stanford University in the USA just launched a course called, “All Too Well (Ten Week Version),” to analyze Taylor Swift’s song.
“All Too Well,” of course, has been a topic of too many late-night discussions about Swifties. The Grammy-nominated tune has long been speculated to be about Taylor’s relationship with her ex, actor Jake Gyllenhaal (“Brokeback Mountain”).
Taylor herself also confirmed at least one metaphor in the song, namely the red scarf mentioned in “All Too Well.”
The course is part of the University’s Winter Quarter for ITALIC 99 courses, are unique student-led short courses.
Previous course topics covered by the ITALIC 99 courses included animation, improv acting, watercolor, and more.
Stanford’s Taylor Swift class isn’t particularly new. People magazine has reported other universities such as New York University, University of Texas at Austin, and Queen’s University in Canada have offered classes on Taylor Swift.
Taylor recently won a Grammy for the “All Too Well (10 Minute Version)” music video.
She also ranked no. 9 on the Forbes top 10 list of highest paid entertainers, making her the only woman in the top 10.
She also won the 2022 Global Recording Artist of the Year Award from International Federation of the Phonographic Industry (IFPI) for the third time. She is the only artist to accomplish this feat.
