We all know that the Kansas City Chiefs have the best quarterback in the league. But we love hearing it, because, why wouldn’t we? We also love hearing how Patrick Mahomes is one of the greatest to ever do it, even at this stage in his career.
He has done so much in such little time. In just five years of being a starting quarterback, the man has never not been to an AFC Championship. He also has three Super Bowl appearances including two Super Bowl wins with two MVPs and two Super Bowl MVPs.
Patrick Mahomes is indeed different, and one Hall of Famer thinks so too. He gave him some praise we don’t see often.
“Patrick Mahomes is something special that we have never seen before,” Warren Sapp said on the Rich Eisen Show. “I’ve hunted them all, there is nothing like this kid.”

Sapp is one of the best defenders of all time and has hunted down some of the best quarterbacks to ever do it. He has played against guys like Tom Brady and Brett Farve, and many others of course.
To hear Sapp talk so highly of Mahomes is huge. The best part is, I think you could even make the case that he isn’t even in his prime yet. And if you would like to argue that he is, since he is only 27 years old, he is easily at the beginning of his prime.
Last year we saw Mahomes be the first player since Kurt Warner to win the regular season MVP and the Super Bowl MVP in the same season.
He did everything this year with an entirely new receiver group besides one player, who only played eight games in Mecole Hardman. The things we have seen Mahomes do are unbelievable, and it’s only been five years.
