Known as one of the most influential and popular Hollywood superstars around the world, Tom Cruise is often looked upon as a once-in-a-generation individual who created his legacy with his hard work and dedication to his craft. Being a veteran in almost all genres of films, he can be considered a person who has an eye for figuring out what a good film should look like, along with the knowledge of what needs to be done to reach that success.
Thus, there should be no surprise that the star has a very strict and dedicated work schedule that he actively preaches on the sets to motivate his fellow stars. But one time, this took a bad turn for one of the stars from his Mission: Impossible 2, where he was stripped of the chance to play the role of the raging mutant by Cruise.

Tom Cruise Stopped Dougray Scott From Becoming Wolverine!
Dougray Scott
Famously known for his contributions to films like Enigma and Ever After, Dougray Scott was chosen by director Ben Singer to become the face of Wolverine in the X-Men film by 20th Century Fox Studios. But the chance slipped right by him when he was unable to go past the audition round for the character, which he blames on his co-star Tom Cruise as he was the one who stopped him during their shoot for Mission: Impossible 2.
During an interview for his then-upcoming film Sulpher and White, Scott talked about his experiences working on the project and how he enjoyed it. Then, he shifted gears as he began to reveal that his loss for the role of Wolverine came due to Cruise’s strict policy. He remembered that the Top Gun star wouldn’t let him work on X-Men as he was also a part of Mission: Impossible 2, whose schedule clashed with it. He said:
“That one was out of my control, Tom Cruise didn’t let me do it. We were doing Mission Impossible and he was like, ‘You’ve got to stay and finish the film, and I said I will, but I’ll go do that as well.’ For whatever reason, he said I couldn’t. He was a very powerful guy. Other people were doing everything to make it work, I love what Hugh did with it. He’s a lovely guy.”
Thus, the role was eventually handed to Hugh Jackman, who created a legacy with the character with 17 years of his career.

After making a heroic sacrifice in Logan, people accepted the fact that Jackman had finally hung his claws for good and retired from his role as Wolverine. But with the recent announcement made by Disney, Ryan Reynolds and the Prisoners star himself, we have confirmation that he is all set to return as Wolverine in the upcoming movie, Deadpool 3. While not much is known about the film at this point, we have hints that Wade Wilson will do some kind of dimension-jumping shenanigans to bring Wolverine back.
