De’Aaron Fox has now well and truly arrived on the big stage, having helped the Sacramento Kings take a 2-0 lead over the Golden State Warriors in their first-round series.
He has been so good, that former Kings star Mike Bibby is picking him as the best player in the series, even over Stephen Curry.
“I think he (Fox) is the best (player) in this series and it’s showing,” Bibby said on The Carton Show. “If he keeps going the way he is, I have (the Kings) going to the (NBA) Finals.”
While a run to the NBA Finals would be pretty unlikely, you can certainly make the case that Fox has played better than Curry so far. He is averaging 31.0 PPG, 3.0 RPG, 7.0 APG, and 3.5 SPG in this series while Curry is putting up 29.0 PPG, 4.5 RPG, and 4.0 APG.
Fox has gotten the job done in the big moments as well, scoring 26 points in the two fourth quarters to lead his team to victory. It is what we have seen from Fox all season long and he was deservedly crowned Clutch Player of the Year on Tuesday. The Warriors will have to find a way to slow him down and that task has just gotten a whole lot more difficult, with Draymond Green being suspended for Game 3.
Charles Barkley Says The Kings Have Kicked The Warriors’ A**
The Green suspension is a big blow to the Warriors and is now the biggest talking point of the series. When reacting to the suspension, Charles Barkley stated that it is taking away from the fact that the Kings have just kicked the Warriors’ a**.
They have indeed taken it to Golden State, but the fact of the matter is that they have just held serve so far. The Warriors have been dominant at home this season (33-8) and they would back themselves to win these next two games to tie the series up, even with Draymond missing Game 3. If they fail to win those two, however, then the Kings might just wrap this series up in a hurry.
