‘Thanks to his mind blowing creativity and unrivalled leadership we were all able to ride on his coattails through the marvel cinematic universe forever grateful. Love ya mate @robertdowneyjr.’
In one photograph, Chris wore sunglasses as he posed alongside Robert on the set of a film.
The Hollywood stars also made a funny face as they both posed for another selfie.

It comes as Chris and his wife Elsa are both filming new movies in Sydney.
The power couple travel back home to Byron Bay on weekends, where they built a $30million mansion.
Chris has been working on new marvel film Thor: Love and Thunder in Sydney and is also rumoured to be producing Elsa’s forthcoming film, Interceptor.
Last week, Elsa and Chris enjoyed a night at the footy, cheering on Russell Crowe’s beloved Rabbitohs.
At the game, where the Sydney Rabbitohs battled the Sydney Roosters, the couple joined the likes of Isla Fisher, Natalie Portman and Jeff Goldblum in a private box.
Also in the box were the likes of Thor: Love and Thunder director Taika Waititi, actress Tessa Thompson and Idris Elba’s wife, Sabrina Dhowre Elba.
Robert Downey Jr. was in a sentimental mood as he cruised toward his 58th birthday on Tuesday.
In a video posted the following day, the Avengers: Endgame star shared a sweet video to Instagram featuring some of the highlights of his past year, including some unexpected footage of his three sons, who are rarely photographed or filmed.
He shares his adult son Indio, 29, with his first wife Deborah Falconer, and he has two younger sons — Exton, 11, and Avri, eight — with his current wife Susan Downey.
The birthday video looked back on Downey’s experiences filming Christopher Nolan’s hotly anticipated film Oppenheimer, as well as the upcoming miniseries based on Viet Thanh Nguyen’s Pulitzer Prize–winning novel The Sympathizer, which allows him to play multiple roles.
He even looked back at some fun footage of his two youngest boys shaving his head from last year, which they did to help him navigate the multiple wigs he has had to wear for the seven-episode series, which is being produced by HBO and A24.

Downey captioned his video: ’57 you’ve been too kind / with deep gratitude I shall rewind..’
It opened with him looking overjoyed as his family sang him Happy Birthday while presenting him with a birthday cake with two tiers of candles.
He wore a white baseball cap and a white T-shirt with a comical photoshopped image of Bruce Lee wearing sunglasses with headphones draped around his neck as he stands in front of a DJ’s turntable.
Eagle-eyed Marvel fans will recognize the DJing Bruce Lee from a different shirt that the actor has worn while playing Tony Stark, and he is apparently a fan of the silly design in real life.
He then launched into a look back at the last 365 days with a black and white photo of himself in costume from Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer, about J. Robert Oppenheimer, the director of the Los Alamos Laboratory that designed the first atomic bombs.
Downey is featured in the film as Lewis Strauss, who was involved in the creation of the bomb and the subsequent push to develop the more powerful hydrogen bomb.
‘Thanks to the Nolans we are of one accord,’ he captioned the photo.
Then he shared a beaming photo of himself as he thanked ‘Hugh Herr and the MIT bionics board.’
