However, the former dropped out of the casting lineup and shared the reason behind leaving the project in a 2019 interview with Variety.
Chris Hemsworth shared that he did not feel hooked up to the script. “I didn’t feel like we landed on a reason to revisit that yet.”
He continued, “I didn’t want to be underwhelmed by what I was going to bring to the table.”
Though the actor has gotten quite selective in his projects since getting enough exposure to deal with those situations, his co-star, Chris Pine also felt displeased by the film’s development as he once mentioned how actors are often kept in dark.

While the actor has turned down reprising his role in Star Trek 4, he has opened up about taking some time off from acting due to his medical condition. While filming for his docuseries, Limitless, he learned that he has a significantly high risk of developing Alzheimer’s disease.
As per reports, he has two copies of the gene ApoE4 which is quite rare as about 2 or 3 percent of the population carry two copies of the gene. He learned that he got two copies of the gene from each parent, which makes him more likely to develop Alzheimer’s than the rest.
Given his condition, he is refraining to take on further acting roles as the news has “really triggered something in me to want to take some time off”. He would focus on taking preventive measures to manage his medical condition while spending some quality time with his family.
