Chelsea are reportedly planning on bringing Liverpool legend Sadio Mane to Stamford Bridge in the summer.
Mane departed Liverpool after six glittering seasons with the Merseyside club in which he won every honour available to him under Jurgen Klopp.
The Senegalese forward looked to have guided Liverpool to a second Premier League trophy with his goal against Wolves on the final day of the season last year but the Reds were ultimately pipped to the post by Manchester City.
However, less than twelve months since his final Premier League appearance, the 31-year-old could be on course for an unexpected return.
According to a report from Football Insider, Chelsea are monitoring Mane’s situation at Bayern with a view to sign him in the summer.

Should the forward be allowed to leave after just 12 months into his stint in Bavaria, Bayern are said to be interested in recouping most £27million fee rising to £35m with add-ons they paid to Liverpool last summer.
Chelsea are believed to be interested in signing offensive reinforcements following a pitiful campaign in front of goal that has seen them score just 30 times in the Premier League, with only relegation threatened Nottingham Forest, Wolves, Southampton and Everton having netted fewer.
Todd Boehly has spent over £600m during his first full season at the helm of the west London club but the massive investment featured few out-and-out attacking players, and those that did join have failed to reach their potential.
Pierre Emerick-Aubameyang joined the club in the summer with a proven track record of netting in the Premier League during his time at Arsenal, but has scored just one Premier League goal this season and looks set for a summer exit.
Meanwhile while January loan signing Joao Felix now looks set to stay at Stamford Bridge this summer, the Portuguese forward has also struggled in front of goal for the Blues.
Despite joining Bayern following six hugely successful seasons with Liverpool, Mane has struggled during his maiden season in the German top flight.

Three goals in his first three Bundesliga appearances was followed by a further three in his next thirteen, as Bayern parted ways with manager Julian Nagelsmann.
After defeat to Manchester City in the Champions League, Mane engaged in a spat with teammate Leroy Sane and was later fined a club record £250,000 for punching the 27-year-old.
Despite his struggles in Germany, Mane’s experience and offensive versatility could make him a valuable asset as Chelsea look to pick up the pieces and embark on a campaign without European football next season.
