KIM Kardashian’s growing dependence on photo touch-ups stems from her fixation with aging, a psychologist has claimed.

But she said the Instagram queen’s image-doctoring is like a “leaky boat,” where editing one flaw means another appears elsewhere.

Kim Kardashian continues to be the reigning queen of Instagram.

With 353million followers watching her, the KUWTK star is keen to share photos of her products.

She never forgets to showcase a flawless complexion and immaculate nails, hair, and makeup.

Fans believe that Kim’s quest for the ultimate body shape has seen her work hard and fast at tweaking her shots.

But it’s these supposed edits that have gotten the billionaire influencer into hot water, despite her raking in the cash.

Recently, Kim faced backlash from fans over a jaw-dropping bikini pic she’d posted online.

The Hulu star looked ripped and tanned in her selfie as she showed off a bikini in her luxurious bathroom.

The April 15 post prompted one fan to write: “The editing on the inner thighs is awful,” later adding: “blurred jagged lines….”

“I felt something looked off myself lol,” wrote another follower.

A third comment read: “Yes, I noticed that too.”

In an exclusive interview, psychologist Jo Hemmings told The U.S Sun: “Kim desperately wants to keep her title as the Queen of Instagram.

“She has reached dizzy heights of fame and has no intention of relinquishing that role to a younger pretender to her throne.

“That’s where the relentless Photoshopping comes in.

“She’s seriously high maintenance in terms of preserving and enhancing her looks.

“Photoshopping is an essential part of her life now and is the photographic elixir of youth.

“Just like plastic surgery, there’s an addiction coming into play.

“Where when one area looks smooth and fixed, it exposes other areas that aren’t so perfect.

“These virtual tweakments come with a similar addiction to plastic surgery procedures.

“While nothing can give you the flawless looks that Photoshopping can give you, surgery also comes with its pesky downtime.

“This sets up a cycle of unfulfilled needs.

“Her behavior is like a leaky boat where she can patch up one area but then another appears.

“As many times as you repair it, it can never be as robust as the original.

“With Kim’s Photoshopping, it’s similar – but the feeling is much more immediate and it can all be done at once.

“Then because she has to sustain those changes all the time, it means her addiction is stronger, faster, and more demanding.

“Kim’s in danger of creating a really inauthentic image of herself.

“This would be where the desire to look better becomes more frenzied and unstoppable.”

This isn’t the first time Kim has been accused of retouching her photos. In the past, she has suffered obvious Photoshop blunders.

In 2014, she posted a picture of herself alongside her trusted friend Jonathan Cheban.

As they stood side by side on a boat in Cannes, Kim was missing half an arm.

In 2018, Kim posted a photo of herself walking while followers spotted a squashed car behind her.

Noticing the comments, Kim turned them off and wrote: “I’m seeing online and on news media outlets that I suffered a ‘Photoshop fail.'”

She added: “So ridiculous! I reposted a picture on Instagram that a fan had already posted — I only added a filter to it.”

Kim continued: “It looks like the fan mirrored the photo, which is the reason the car looks like that.”

Through the years, Kardashian fans claimed she’d started Photoshopping her neck, abs, and waist.

Showing off her washboard abs while wearing a black bikini in June, it looked like her belly button had disappeared.

At the time, Kim was on holiday with Pete Davidson, who had filmed her strolling happily into the water.

In June, Kim also edited a video she posted on a sketch she appeared in with Jimmy Fallon.

In the first section, the mom of four looked had under-eye circles on her skim and its texture was visible.

Seconds later, there appeared to be a “glitch” in the filter and Kim’s complexion looked flawless.

“It’s so easy to Photoshop and Kim’s on this treadmill, ” added Jo.

“Photoshopping for Kim is a temptation literally staring her in the face.

“With a small age line on her neck, for example, it can easily escalate into digital manipulation of just about any of her body parts.

“Kim may well have just gently ironed out the odd line or whitened her teeth.

“She may have knocked a couple of years off her age.

“With Kim, she tends to narrow her waist and extend her booty.

“No body or facial part is out of bounds. Tattoos have been known to mysteriously disappear as well.

“Then there have been the fingers and belly buttons in her attempt to create an improved digital version of herself.

“The other issue is that excessive Photoshopping can cause actual body dysmorphia.

“With the thousands of Photoshopped videos and images, Kim could verge towards body and/or facial dysmorphia.

“This would be where her mind can no longer accept the reality of her image.

“She’s ignoring the fine detail in the pursuit of ‘perfection.’

“The line between what she looks like makeup free in the mirror first thing in the morning and what she has Photoshopped are very blurred.

“Kim may try and accept her real looks but she enjoys maintaining the perfect flawless image on social media.

“She’s desperate to cling on as its forever queen.”
