Gigi Hadid’s Fitness Regime – A Model Workout

No matter whether she’s modeling for a Vogue cover or sashaying down the catwalk on Fashion Week, model Gigi Hadid has amazing style and a figure to die for. Her super athletic frame and 6 pack is the envy of women everywhere. Of course, looking this fit isn’t something that happens all on its own, and the model is very open about her regular fitness regime which she has to adhere to if she wants to stay so toned and fit.

If you’ve ever wanted to know how you too can get a body just like Gigi, you’d need to follow her strict regime. Of course, most of us wouldn’t last the distance, but then if the end result is a 6 pack like Gigi’s we might be tempted to do another 10 minutes more exercise!

A Boxing Regular

When she’s in New York, Gigi spends a lot of time at the Gotham Gym where she trains with owner of the gym Rob Piela. Her love of boxing stems from the fact that she can forget how hard she’s working out thanks to the way she gets so mentally into the exercise. Her uppercuts and jabs are impressive, and she adds in jumping rope to give an additional cardio boost.

A Focus on the Abs

The 6 pack that the 22 year old boasts is certainly not an accident. Gigi works out regularly with her personal trainer on exercises designed to sculpt and tone her abs. Her core-focused workout involves warming up the core with a ten minute boxing session followed by 3 sets of forty crunches. Next, it’s time to boost the heartrate with another ten minutes of boxing followed by three more sets of bicycle crunches (40 each time)kicking each leg out once every bicycle. Finally, there’s ten minutes more boxing, before she holds the plank for 60 seconds. It’s an exhausting regime and Gigi has admitted that she isn’t a fan of the plank. However, since planking is great for the abs she makes sure to add it into her routine.

Working the Lower Body

When it comes to lower body exercises, Gigi’s trainer has decided to keep the routine pretty simple. Bodyweight exercises are the primary focus with a 25 minute leg and cardio workout which consists of interval training, switching between strength training and boxing. During the strength intervals, she does donkey kicks, squats, banded squat walks and plie squats. It’s no wonder her legs are so toned!

Working Out on the Road

While Gigi can work out with her trainer on a one to one level when she’s home in NYC, she is often on the road because of the nature of her work. Yet even when she’s traveling, Gigi makes times for a rigorous workout. She FaceTimes Rob when she’s away working and he gives her all the support and motivation she needs to keep exercising even while she’s not at home.

When she’s away staying in hotels, she heads to the gym to workout using the equipment there. She tries to stick to her routine from home since it has been tailored to her needs by her personal trainer, but she does try to find the best exercise machine for a fast and effective whole body workout when she’s short of time.

The Importance of Healthy Eating

As you might imagine, like any model Gigi eats a balanced, healthy diet. Making time for regular meals to keep her metabolism running at an optimal level is a key part of her daily regime. As you’d expect, her diet consists of plenty of fresh fruit and vegetables along with lean protein such as fish and chicken.

Her motto is to eat clean and stay fit, but every now and then, she admits that she allows herself to cheat from time to time. In fact, you might be surprised by some of the foods that she includes in her eating plan. Her favorite breakfast is scrambled eggs and bacon with toast followed up by orange juice and coffee. Her favorite burger joint in New York is JG Melon but she makes sure to balance out those cheat lunches with healthy arugula salads on other days the New York’s The Smile café. She is a whizz in the kitchen, but she’s a fan of takeout sushi for dinner, and ice cream is another guilty pleasure (Grasshopper Pie is her favorite flavor.)
