Some adorable images reveal the close bond that has formed between a two-year-old chimpanzee called Do Do and a two-month-old tiger cub called Aorn.
It’s true, chimpanzees can display a strong maternal instinct just like humans do, and this adorable photo proves it.
As featured on BuzzFeed and Neatorama, a two-year-old chimp named Do Do holds a tiger cub named Aorn in her arms and feeds her with a milk bottle.
Even cuter still, Do Do at one point puts the bottle in her mouth like a human mother would do to check if milk is suitable for her baby.
Completely at ease in each other’s company, the ape’s motherly instincts take over as she attentively bottle feeds the baby tiger. Aorn gratefully laps up the milk as Do Do tenderly holds the tiger in her arms.
For some unexplained reason Do Do is wearing a pair of denim shorts – perhaps to protect her thighs from Aorn’s claws.
Still, it seems strange that a monkey would act like a mom to a tiger. If they were fully grown, it’s hard to believe the two would get along in the wild. However, the zookeepers do appear to be looking out for the animals’ safety first — Do Do is wearing a pair of denim shorts, likely to protect her thighs from Aorn’s claws.
The odd couple was captured on video at Samut Prakan Crocodile Farm and Zoo on the outskirts of Bangkok, Thailand. The zoo houses 80,000 crocodiles, but also monkeys and tigers as well as elephants, lions, horses and hippopotamuses.
