Manchester United are hoping to beat off other clubs and win the race to sign Rosenburg starlet Sverre Nypan.
The 16-year-old has been on United’s radar for over a year and is regarded as one of the biggest talents in Scandinavian football.
Nypan scored his first senior goal on Saturday when he netted against Bodo Glimt, having made his debut at the age of 15 back in November.
In doing so he became the youngest player in Rosenborg history to score in a league match at 16 years and 145 days.

And The Sun claim United have been following him closely and are set to ramp up their pursuit of the midfielder, who has been likened to former target Frenkie De Jong.
They report that the Red Devils have sent scouts to watch him multiple times this season.
However, the English giants are facing competition with clubs from Germany, Holland and Belgium all said to be interested.
Nypan has also represented Norway at U15 and U16 level.
