Comedian and movie star Kevin Hart has added an Alabama date to his 2023 Reality Check tour, and tickets go on sale this week.
Hart will perform at the Dothan Civic Center, a 3,100-seat arena, on June 16, a Friday, according to information released by Birmingham-based Red Mountain Entertainment. Presales presented by the artist, the venue and Live Nation begin at 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 17, and general public ticket sales begin at 10 a.m. Thursday, May 18. Basic ticket prices range from $79.50 to $249.50, according to www.etix.com, with VIP options ranging up to $949.50.
In October 2022, Pollstar ranked Hart’s tour among the Top 10 highest grossing comedy tours from September 2021 to September 2022. Hart ranked fifth, with just over $22 million for 25 shows in that period.
Hart last performed in Alabama at Legacy Arena at the BJCC in Birmingham in November 2022. Hart also played the Mark C. Smith Concert Hall at Von Braun Center in February 2022. He also gifted Decatur resident Ethan LyBrand with a “Magic Bumblebee Wheelchair,” named for the child’s favorite character in the “Transformers” action film franchise. LyBrand, a Muscular Dystrophy Association national ambassador, and that wheelchair were later featured in a Verizon ad during the Academy Awards in 2021.
Born and raised in Philadelphia, Hart has become a Hollywood superstar, with films grossing more than $4 billion. His films include “Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle,” “Ride Along,” “Get Hard,” “Central Intelligence” and “Captain Underpants: The First Epic Movie.”
