Now that Rihanna and A$AP Rocky have officially announced they’re expecting their first child, they can really start dressing. (As if they’d ever stopped in the first place.) Since the couple shared the news in late January, their post-pregnancy announcement tour has been a sartorial whirlwind, almost as if Rih had been saving up some belly-baring looks for weeks’ worth of viral moments. So far, A$AP’s paternity style seems pretty in line with what he normally wears, but with what we can only guesstimate are some preemptively dadcore flourishes. (Frankly, the same goes for Rih’s maternity looks.) Here, we rounded up some of their best parents-to-be looks, as they prepare to welcome their future “very fly child” into the world.
As Rihanna’s due date nears, the couple celebrated at Rih’s favorite restaurant, Giorgio Baldi in Santa Monica, in style: the mom-to-be wore a glitzy shorts set with her go-to Amina Muaddi sandals, while Rocky paired his lace-printed Denim Tears x Levi’s jeans with a matching hoodie and a pair of very gorpy Adidas Terrex AX3 trainers. There’s a non-zero chance this could be the last parents-to-be stunt we see from them, but there’s no way their mom-and-dad fits won’t be just as, if not even more, fantastic.
In what may well be their most awwww-inducing date night outfit yet, the couple kept it casual for dinner at the celeb haunt Craig’s in Los Angeles—that is, casual by Rihanna and A$AP Rocky standards. We’ve got Rih wearing her now-iconic Minnie and Mickey “Who dat is? Dat’s jus my baby daddy” tee and the Guava Ice 4s from Air Jordan’s Union LA collab, and Rocky in a zip-up hoodie from his Mercedes-Benz collection, mind-boggling multi-cuff jeans, and his favorite fuzzy Loewe boots. Plus the matching AWGE trucker hats? It’s almost too much!

In Paris, Rihanna and A$AP attended the final Off-White collection designed by their friend, the late Virgil Abloh, where Rih wore a peachy leather Off-White dress and matching shearling duster coat, while A$AP sported a black leather bomber jacket from his then-unannounced capsule collection with Mercedes-Benz.
The internet effectively lost it when photos surfaced of Rih and Rocky arriving at the Gucci show during Milan Fashion week: she, in a belly-baring top, dragon-printed pants, purple fur coat, and metallic headdress; he, in leather trousers, Guccididas gloves and classic Adidas sneakers, carrying some very Wes Andersonian monogrammed Gucci luggage. All told, this is one for the books.
Later that evening, the couple made a few costume changes. Rocky kept the gloves and added a ski mask, which he paired with a Palace camouflage puffer vest and some camo-and-khaki cargos. For her part, Rih slipped her lilac Gucci fur over a mini dress and lace-up stilettos.

They capped off a whole Week of Big Fits, naturally, at the Super Bowl.
Rih arrived in a Rams-appropriate navy Balenciaga puffer with a furry yellow trim, a sheer tulle shirt from the menswear label Jetpack Hom(m)e, and archive Margiela jeans, while A$AP went Vuitton again in a baggy monogram denim set and slouchy football scarf. Look closely and you may see a few salt-and-pepper strands in Rocky’s cornrows—but we’ll save that for next week’s Grooming Gods.

A pit stop on the Fenty empire train: Rih and Rocky made a surprise appearance at the Savage X Fenty store in the Westfield Culver City mall. Afterwards, the pair hit up Giorgio Baldi, perhaps for an early Valentine’s dinner. (Rih had been there just two nights before, wearing a vintage Cavalli duster and camo AwakeNY trucker hat to dinner with family.)
Rih, in a custom red leather hooded trench designed by Alaïa’s Pieter Mulier, posed alongside A$AP in his sequin-pinstriped, double-breasted Celine suit with white shirt untucked, long-day-at-the-office style. They also both went with matching pop-of-red footwear, in the form of Rih’s strappy Amina Muaddi sandals and Rocky’s silver and red Prada America’s Cup sneakers. One can only imagine there will be more Velcro-strapped shoes in their future.

A few weeks after the announcement, they made their red carpet debut as parents-to-be at a Fenty Beauty event in Los Angeles, accidentally coordinating in grape purple and lime green: Rih wore a custom glittery look by The Attico, while Rocky wore a Big League Chew-hued Louis Vuitton letterman jacket and a matching Yankee fitted hat covered with Care Bears patches. They didn’t plan on matching, Rihanna told People at the event, saying “I didn’t know what he was wearing. I didn’t even see him! Like, he left the studio to come here.”
“That always happens with us,” she added. “We get dressed in completely separate [areas] across the house, and we leave looking coordinated somehow.”

The pair announced their pregnancy on Instagram—where else?—with a series of photos taken by the paparazzo Diggzy, who has captured some of Rihanna’s most reblogged street style looks in the past. The couple posed uptown in Harlem, where Rocky grew up: she, in a pink puffer from Chanel’s fall 1996 collection unbuttoned over her bare belly, and he, in baggy black patent pants and a denim Carhartt Active jacket. Come to think of it, his whole torso situation feels very dadcore.
