Haaland posts picture of himself playing MINECRAFT after refusing to reveal his favourite video game

Erling Haaland may have finally revealed his favourite video game after posting a picture of himself playing Minecraft on Instagram on Friday.

The Manchester City striker has had a remarkable first season in England, scoring 52 goals in all competitions, leaving many trying to figure out the secret to his success.

After breaking the record for most goals scored in a single Premier League season in City’s match against West Ham earlier this month, Haaland was asked about his mindset for the rest of the campaign.

He replied: ‘I don’t think of this (breaking more records). I sleep tonight and then I think about three points against Leeds. I will go home now and play some video games and then sleep.’

The 22-year-old was pressed on the video game that he enjoyed the most, but refused to answer, claiming it was ‘too embarrassing’.

But the secret may finally be out as Haaland took to Instagram on Friday to post a picture of himself playing Minecraft.

Minecraft was first fully released in 2011 and has become the best-selling video game in history.

However, it is typically more popular with young children, which may explain why Haaland was so keen to keep it a secret until now.

Now that Haaland has indicated that he is a fan of the game, it could become even more popular, as the Norwegian forward has already proved his influence on fans in his first season at City.

After having his picture taken while only wearing Y-fronts alongside rock star Noel Gallagher following City’s 4-1 win over Arsenal last month, the demand for Y-fronts has risen by a staggering 45 per cent, making them more popular than boxer shorts.

Haaland has also shown that he is willing to think outside the box this season after it was revealed last month that he drinks a ‘magic potion’ to maintain his stunning goalscoring form.

The milk smoothie is laced with spinach and kale, which may not be to everyone’s taste, but certainly seems to be working for him.

His season could hardly have gone any better as he continues to lead his team’s charge towards an unprecedented treble, with City set to secure their first piece of silverware this season if they beat Chelsea tomorrow.
