Two-time Grammy nominee Jennifer Lopez and her fourth husband, two-time Oscar-winning filmmaker Ben Affleck, stepped out to attend his youngest daughter Seraphina’s school play in Los Angeles on Saturday evening.
The 53-year-old Bronx native managed to upstage everyone involved by showing a lot of leg in a red-ruffled maxi-dress, matching purse, and patent leather platform heels.
The Berkeley-born, Cambridge-raised 50-year-old opted for basic black attire as Jennifer strolled behind him with her 15-year-old son Maximilian Muñiz and a mystery girl wearing a tiara.
Lopez mothered Max and his fraternal twin Emme Muñiz during her third marriage to Marc Anthony, which ended in 2011 after seven years.
The Mother producer-star was also seen chatting up her eldest stepdaughter Violet, who towered over her despite wearing flat sneakers.
At one point, Jennifer and the bespectacled 17-year-old affectionately wrapped their arms around each other in a show of just how close the blended family has become.
Seraphina – sporting a jean jacket and red cargo shorts – triumphantly emerged from the theater holding two bouquets for her performance.
The mullet-haired 14-year-old was joined by her famous mother, four-time Emmy nominee Jennifer Garner, who wore a black jacket and blue jeans.
The Texan-born, West Virginia-raised 51-year-old – who divorced Ben in 2018 after a decade of marriage – seemed equally excited to embrace Seraphina’s gal pal, but there was no sign of their 11-year-old son Samuel.
On May 11, Lopez opened up about how guilty she feels about the attention her children receive just by their nepotistic association to celebrity.
‘They didn’t choose that. And I haven’t talked to them a lot about this, but they have just started letting me know how people treat them,’ Jennifer told Audacy.
‘So when they walk into the room, that’s what people are thinking about. They’re not seeing them for who they are. And I think that has to be a really hard thing for them. So I would love to have been able to protect them from that.’
The On My Way songstress continued: ‘But also, I’m being judged. Everybody has to deal with being bullied. It doesn’t matter who you are, you could get bullied. But being judged by people you don’t even know in a way is I think really difficult for them to kind of grow up and be themselves.
‘They know that there’s a lens on them, and that’s hard. Probably not a very relatable thing to say, because a lot of people don’t understand it. And they’re like, “Okay, so you’re famous and your kids are blah blah, right?” But it is hard for them, I think, and I did that to them.’
Lopez and Affleck – who previously dated between 2002-2004 – will celebrate their first wedding anniversary on July 16.
The couple formerly known as ‘Bennifer’ were reportedly in contact again in February 2021, two months before she ended her engagement to Minnesota Timberwolves co-owner Alex Rodriguez.
The Air director-star and his BFF Matt Damon are currently producing William Goldenberg’s drama Unstoppable which stars Jennifer as Judy Robles, the tattoo-sleeved mother of one-legged champion wrestler Anthony Robles (Jharrel Jerome).
The Emmy-nominated pop diva will next release her ninth studio alum This Is Me… Now on July 21, and at least nine of the 13 tracks appear to be written about Ben including ‘Dear Ben Pt. II.’
On November 18, Lopez wrapped the titular role in Brad Peyton’s AI thriller Atlas – premiering later this year on Netflix – alongside Simu Liu and Sterling K. Brown.
‘We had a good time,’ Jennifer – who boasts 383.3M social media followers – said on Instagram Live at the time.
‘This is a beautiful movie about the future, but it’s also about letting people in.
The former Fly Girl also keeps busy running her cosmetics company JLo Beauty and Revolve clothing company JLo.
And audiences can next catch Affleck reprising his role as Bruce Wayne/Batman opposite Jason Momoa in James Wan’s long-delayed sequel Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom, which hits US theaters on December 20 and UK theaters on December 29.
