Dodge’s electric muscle car is coming, and we’re already imagining how the inevitable variants might look.

Dodge is the master at iteration. The array of regular-production Dodge Charger and Challenger models is dizzying, but add in the special limited-production stuff, the Mopar and Direct Connection catalogue goodies, and you have an almost unlimited amount of variation on what you can do with one of these modern muscle cars.

So when the Dodge Charger Daytona EV concept emerged, we started thinking about what it could become. Our mind went immediately to the wild wing cars of yesteryear, and so we reimagined the Daytona as Richard Petty’s Plymouth Superbird, because why not? We also took a look at how the Daytona EV would look in heritage paint hues—to mixed results.

Now we’re thinking about what the Daytona might look like with both less and more. For less, we’ve chopped off the roof to imagine the Daytona as a four-place, two-door convertible coupe—a very modern take on a retro idea, and one we’d love Stellantis to build. More likely is a dedicated drag racing version sanctioned by the NHRA, and so we whipped up a Mopar Drag Pak version of the Daytona as well, complete with a chute.
