Marcus Rashford reveals why Erik ten Hag dropped him for the Wolves game
Speaking to @btsportfootball as quoted by Fabrizio Romano, Marcus Rashford has revealed why Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag dropped him to the bench for the game against Wolves.
Rashford has revealed that he overslept and missed a pre-game meeting and the team rules meant that he had to be dropped. The English international was understanding of the situation and said that he accepted the punishment.
The English international came up with the best response possible. He came off the bench and came up with a moment of magic as he glided past Wolves defenders and gave Manchester United the only goal of the game.
Ten Hag did bring Rashford on in the second half for Alejandro Garnacho and his redemption this season is well and truly on track. The talented winger was very influential in Man United’s 1-0 win last night.
It’s the perfect kind of response from a player who is naturally very gifted. After an indifferent season last time around where he struggled for form and fitness, Rashford is truly back to his very best which bodes well for the Red Devils.
Here is what the English international said in the aftermath of being dropped by Erik ten Hag from the starting XI
“I overslept and I missed the pre game meeting. I was a little bit late. It’s the team rules and I understand the decision”

Rashford’s solitary goal meant that Man United managed to secure a much-needed win. They can now continue their good form as they look to make a push and cement their place in the top four in the Premier League.
The Red Devils have had a lot of off-field controversies surrounding them this season but it all seems to have been sorted out now. Erik ten Hag will want his team to get more clinical and find ways to win games.
Rashford made a mistake and he has faced the consequence of his actions. He has responded in a brilliant manner and is fully expected to return to the starting XI the next time United play.
