Marvel stars continue to share their support and good wishes to Jeremy Renner after his accident.
On January 1st, actor Jeremy Renner sustained severe injuries from a snowplow accident while the star attempted to help a family member whose vehicle was stuck in the snow.
Reno Mayor Hillary Schieve told the Reno Gazette-Journal that his own snowplow hurt the Hawkeye star while he was trying to offer assistance. After the accident, Renner underwent two surgeries related to blunt chest trauma and orthopedic injuries. He has since remained in the ICU in “critical but stable condition.”
More recently, Variety reported that the Hurt Locker star has continued to receive well-wishes and support from his fellow Marvel stars.
Not too long ago, Renner took to Instagram to share an image of himself in his hospital bed. He captioned the photo, “Thank you all for your kind words. I’m too messed up now to type. But I send love to you all.” In response to Renner’s update, plenty of stars, including many of his fellow Marvel actors, reacted to his post in the comment section and sent plenty of good thoughts his way.
“Speedy recovery buddy,” said Chris Hemsworth, who played one of the original six Avengers alongside Renner. He added, “Sending love your way!”
Another of the original Avengers stars, Chris Evans, similarly offered his support to the actor. “Tough as nails. Love you buddy,” he wrote.
Guardians of the Galaxy star Chris Pratt wrote, “Continued prayers your way brutha.”
Jeremy Renner’s Recent Update Received Plenty of Love From Those Included in the MCU
There were plenty more kind words from others like the Russo Brothers, who directed Renner in Marvel movies like Avengers: Endgame and Avengers: Infinity War. Their reply read, “Sending all of our love, brother, and hopes for a speedy recovery.”
Likewise, Taika Waititi, who directed two of the Thor movies in the MCU, wrote, “My brother I love you.”
Josh Brolin, who starred as Thanos in the MCU and went up against Renner’s character Hawkeye, offered his love, responding, “Close but no cigar. You’re blessed. Quick recovery, brother.”
Other stars not involved in the MCU also send their love to Renner via the comment section of his post. These well-wishers included celebrities like Kate Hudson, Isla Fisher, Penelope Cruz, Jimmy Fallon, Heidi Klum, Vanessa Hudgens, and Orlando Bloom.
Variety additionally noted that in a statement to the media, Renner’s family “would like to express their gratitude to the incredible doctors and nurses looking after him, Truckee Meadows Fire and Rescue, Washoe County Sheriff, Reno City Mayor Hillary Schieve and the Carano and Murdock families. They are also tremendously overwhelmed and appreciative of the outpouring of love and support from his fans.”
