A new mother has had the sʜᴏᴄᴋ of her life after she was ʀᴜsʜᴇᴅ to ʜᴏsᴘɪᴛᴀʟ for what she thought was ᴋɪᴅɴᴇʏ sᴛᴏɴᴇs and ᴇɴᴅᴇᴅ ᴜᴘ giving birth to triplets.
Finding out that you are having multiples is always a surprise, but finding out that you’re in ʟᴀʙᴏʀ with triplets when you didn’t even know you were ᴘʀᴇɢɴᴀɴᴛ, well that’s mother of all amazing. Dannette Glitz, from Sturgis in South Dakota in the US, had ɴᴏ idea she was ᴘʀᴇɢɴᴀɴᴛ as she did ɴᴏᴛ feel any movement and did ɴᴏᴛ experience any ᴍᴏʀɴɪɴɢ sɪᴄᴋɴᴇss. She started getting ᴘᴀɪɴ in her back and sides in the days before the birth, but it felt like the ᴋɪᴅɴᴇʏ sᴛᴏɴᴇs she had previously experienced so she bʀᴜsʜᴇᴅ it off. Eventually, she was in so much ᴘᴀɪɴ all she could do was lay in ʙᴇᴅ and cry. She said :” I started getting ᴘᴀɪɴs in my back and in my side and it felt like kidney sᴛᴏɴᴇs. I ᴋᴇᴘᴛ ᴘᴜsʜɪɴɢ on till Saturday and I was in so much ᴘᴀɪɴ all I could do was lie in my ʙᴇᴅ and cry. It ʜᴜʀᴛ to move and even ʙʀᴇᴀᴛʜ.”
Dannette thought she ɴᴇᴇᴅᴇᴅ ᴜʀɢᴇɴᴛ sᴜʀɢᴇʀʏ to ʙʀᴇᴀᴋ ᴜᴘ the sᴛᴏɴᴇs and went into ʜᴏsᴘɪᴛᴀʟ on August 10. But ᴡᴀs sʜᴏᴄᴋed when the ᴅᴏᴄᴛᴏʀ told her she was 34-weeks ᴘʀᴇɢɴᴀɴᴛ. Initially the ᴅᴏᴄᴛᴏʀ thought she was having twins and the third baby even took them by surprise. Dannette said: “You don’t ever see triplets being ᴄᴏɴᴄᴇɪᴠᴇᴅ ɴᴀᴛᴜʀᴀʟʟʏ, let alone going 34 weeks without knowing. So, everyone’s like, I can’t believe it. We’re still in sʜᴏᴄᴋ, trust me. I go to the ᴅᴏᴄᴛᴏʀ’s thinking I’ll have sᴜʀɢᴇʀʏ for ᴋɪᴅɴᴇʏ sᴛᴏɴᴇs and end up going into ʟᴀʙᴏᴜʀ with a ᴄ-sᴇᴄᴛɪᴏɴ that night. It’s ᴄʀᴀᴢʏ. They were born within four minutes of each other and each weighed around four pounds. Glitz and her husband Austin named their surprise children Blaze, Gypsy and Nikki. Because the couple’s older children are school-aged, they didn’t have any baby stuff at home. Friends quickly rallied, raising over $2,000 via a Fᴀᴄᴇʙᴏᴏᴋ Fᴜɴᴅʀᴀɪsᴇʀ to help the family with unexpected expenses.
A family of seven the family is getting used to their new normal and is so thankful for the ᴄᴏᴍᴍᴜɴɪᴛʏ sᴜᴘᴘᴏʀᴛ and ᴅᴏɴᴀᴛɪᴏɴs. Glitz said :”It’s amazing in a small town how many people will come together for stuff that’s not expected.” Older sister 10-year-old Ronnie, is pretty happy about a trio of siblings sʜᴏᴡɪɴɢ ᴜᴘ sᴜᴅᴅᴇɴʟʏ. Ronnie said : “One time I seen a shooting star and I wished for a baby brother, and I wished for like two sisters for my little sister because she always wanted a little sister, I knew this day was always going to come.” Congratulations to Danette and her family!
