Wednesday’s successful first season has left its new dedicated fanbase with lots of burning questions.
Wednesday was a huge success on Netflix, reaching the overall top ten series of the year on the streaming service. While Wednesday Addams was an iconic character many viewers were familiar with, this story was a fresh take on the well-known character.

Wednesday’s genre mix of fantasy and mystery was part of what made it such a success. While the setting and characters were of the strange and sometimes supernatural realm, the plot played out very much like a teenage mystery drama. Though the show is still new, many fans already have a lot of questions about what Wednesday will face next season.10Will Wednesday Have A Larger Group Of Friends?
Some of Wednesday’s biggest mistakes in the first season are not trusting people and pushing her friends away. However, her passion was recognized among some of her classmates, creating unexpected bonds by the end of her first semester.
Though she angered Enid and Xavier in her search for the truth, they eventually forgave her, suggesting they’ll be valuable friends going forward. She also bonded with other students, such as fellow psychic Eugene, and former enemy Bianca. This makes fans wonder if she’ll have a closer-knit group of allies going into the next season.
9How Will Enid Change Now That She’s Wolfed Out?
In the first season, Wednesday’s friend Enid had her own obstacle to overcome aside from the overarching mystery. She was a werewolf that was judged by her family and peers because she had yet to fully transform into a werewolf. However, she fully transformed in the final episode and was able to take down Tyler’s Hyde form.

While Enid was a vibrant, well-rounded character, much of her conflict had to do with feeling like she didn’t fit in because of her inability to fully wolf out. Now that she has been able to change into a full-fledged werewolf, fans wonder what this could mean for her character development going forward.
8What Will Become Of Bianca?
Bianca is one of the most powerful characters in Wednesday, a fierce siren that people don’t trust because of her ability to manipulate them. She started off as a competitor to the protagonists but eventually became an ally and a more complex, rounded character.
The show left her conflict on a cliffhanger, revealing that she was formerly a part of a siren cult known as the Morning Stars with her mother Gabrielle. Her mother is now blackmailing her into helping with a con or else she’ll reveal to Nevermore Academy that Bianca used her powers to get into the school. Though it’s clear Bianca is a good person, this potential conflict makes viewers wonder what decisions she’ll make next season.
7Who Will Replace Weems As Principal Of Nevermore?
Principal Weems was another powerful character and the only shapeshifter character introduced within the first season. Fans were disappointed to see her poisoned at the end by Laurel Gates. Despite the fact that she tried to thwart Wednesday’s investigation, she was a likable character.
Assuming the second season of Wednesday will also take place at Nevermore Academy, which seems likely given the character development of other students, her death means there will have to be a new principal at the school. There were no hints to suggest who would take her place, but many fans have speculated this could be an interesting way to further incorporate Morticia Addams into the series.
6Will Wednesday Have More LGBTQ Representation?
Wednesday had a good amount of representation within the series, including different racial identities, magical creatures, and personalities. However, some viewers were not impressed with the representation and desired more portrayal of various groups.
One aspect that was lacking in the series was LGBTQ+ representation. Wednesday had many popular ships, but one of the most popular was the chemistry between Enid and Wednesday. While they haven’t shown an obvious attraction to one another, that hasn’t stopped fans from hoping there will be some LGBTQ+ romance in season two.
5Will Tyler Be Seen Again?
Tyler was a love interest for Wednesday until she discovered he was the Hyde Laurel Gates was using to wreak havoc at Nevermore Academy and Jericho. Despite the terrible things he did, fans still enjoyed his character and sympathized with his abhorrence of outcasts because of the loss of his mother.

At the end of the first season, he was defeated by Enid and subdued by his sheriff father. While this seemed to be the end of Tyler’s storyline, the last image before the finale saw him transforming into his Hyde form when he was being transported in chains. This suggests that Tyler’s storyline might not be over quite yet.
4Will Laurel Gates Continue To Plot?
One of the best world-building details in Wednesday is the conflict between “normies” and “outcasts”. This was emphasized when Laurel disguised herself as an outcast teacher, Thornhill, in Nevermore to plot against the outcasts.
Laurel Gates was stopped by Eugene and his bees, but Wednesday was the one to knock her unconscious at the end of their battle. That’s the last the audience saw of Laurel, but it can be assumed that she was arrested for her attempts to kill all the outcasts. However, since she didn’t appear to be dead after her fight with Eugene and Wednesday, it’s possible she’ll continue to plot against the outcasts and be back for more revenge.
3Will The Addams Family Play A Bigger Role Going Forward?
Wednesday was a huge success on Netflix and has already been renewed for another season. However, fans of The Addams Family were disappointed that the rest of the Addamses didn’t have bigger roles within the show. Though they appeared in a few episodes and were involved in some subplots, they remained in the background.

While the show shouldn’t focus on the entire family equally, since it’s supposed to follow the life of teenage Wednesday, fans wonder if the upcoming plot will incorporate them more.
2Who Is Threatening Wednesday?
The first season’s conflict was concluded, solving the mystery of the Hyde and the plot against Nevermore’s outcasts. However, the end of the season was ominous, with Wednesday receiving a text that someone was watching her and an animation of her being killed.
Since Xavier gifted her the cell phone, he is a suspect for this potential stalker. On the other hand, the first season had a few twists along the way, making someone appear to be a suspect when they were innocent. This means anyone, especially the least expected, could be her new stalker.
1Who Will Be The Next Antagonist?
There were a few antagonists in the first season, including Laurel, Tyler, and even a few characters that created conflict for Wednesday but didn’t turn out to be villains. Since the conflict in the first season was resolved, that likely means the next will feature a whole new mystery.
While it’s possible Laurel Gates or Tyler could make another appearance, the text threatening Wednesday likely means there’s a new enemy that will emerge in the upcoming plot. The creators could either utilize a character already developed or bring another foe for Wednesday to face off against.
